The Art Summit

The annual educational platform Art Summit Nigeria has been instrumental in bringing together a wide range of social and cultural actors in a bid to probe and re-engage existing and future modes of art-making and presentation, patronage and the emergence of institutions. The program explores important issues in the art ecosystem, situating its dialogue within local and global contexts. Selected speakers and participants from past editions include curators like Ugochukwu-Smooth Nzewi, Folakunle Oshun and Iheanyi Onwuegbucha as well as artists like Victor Ehikhamenor, Ibrahim Mahama and Peju Alatise.

The Rele Arts Foundation is constantly interested in organising and supporting projects and individuals that push the boundaries of what art is, foster critical dialogue and proffer alternate realities to existing harmful stereotypes and misconceptions about the African continent.
